The General Assembly of UNDERSEC Project held on the 1st of August 2025, considering the lack of registrations, decided, in accordance with SMAUG Project, to cancel the joint workshop expected for the 16th of September and, consequently, to postpone to another date and venue the Plenary Meeting scheduled for the same date at Ravenna Port.

From September 1 to 3, 2025, the UnderSec project participated in the CERIS Joint Demonstration Event on European Border Surveillance Innovation, a key Horizon Europe event focused on advancing border surveillance and security across Europe. This event gathered authorities, practitioners, and agencies from EU Member States, Schengen Associated Countries, and EU bodies involved in EU entry points security.

UNDERSEC and SMAUG, two leading European research and innovation projects funded under Horizon Europe, are proud to announce their strategic partnership to strengthen underwater security for ships, ports, and critical maritime infrastructure across Europe.

UNDERSEC focuses on developing advanced technologies and methodologies to enhance underwater security in ports and maritime environments. Its aim is to create flexible and effective solutions for detecting and countering underwater threats, ensuring safer and more resilient maritime infrastructure.

From April 28 to 30, 2025, the UnderSec Project participated at the European Port Alliance 2nd Senior Officials’ Meeting. This important gathering brought together public and private stakeholders across the maritime supply chain to review progress made during the initiative’s first year and to set strategic priorities aimed at strengthening port resilience against organized crime, with a particular focus on combating drug trafficking.

The Undersec project achieved a milestone in April 2025 with its mid-term review meeting, showcasing remarkable progress and drawing significant attention from key stakeholders. This pivotal event not only highlighted the project's achievements but also opened doors to new opportunities for collaboration and increased visibility.
