UNDERSEC and SMAUG, two leading European research and innovation projects funded under Horizon Europe, are proud to announce their strategic partnership to strengthen underwater security for ships, ports, and critical maritime infrastructure across Europe.

UNDERSEC focuses on developing advanced technologies and methodologies to enhance underwater security in ports and maritime environments. Its aim is to create flexible and effective solutions for detecting and countering underwater threats, ensuring safer and more resilient maritime infrastructure.

SMAUG specializes in pioneering integrated and intelligent security systems that combine multiple technological approaches to form a comprehensive “remote barrier” capable of monitoring, detecting, and responding to underwater risks such as sabotage and illicit trafficking.

This collaboration brings together cutting-edge technologies and expertise to address the growing sophistication of underwater threats. By aligning innovative solutions with real-world operational needs and regulatory frameworks, the projects aim to develop proactive, interoperable, and intelligent security systems.
