We are pleased to share that the UnderSec project was recently highlighted in a feature article published by Ship2Shore, a leading Italian maritime industry magazine.
In the article, Vittorio Sangermano, researcher at ISSNOVA (Institute for Sustainable Society and Innovation) and partner of the UnderSec consortium, presented UnderSec among other cutting-edge European research projects. The publication focuses on the EU’s commitment to advancing maritime research and innovation, with ISSNOVA’s active participation in several high-impact initiatives.
During his interview, Sangermano described UnderSec as a pioneering project in underwater security. He explained that UnderSec is developing integrated systems for the detection and identification of underwater threats, as well as technologies to protect civilian vessels from terrorist hazards. Sangermano emphasized the importance of these solutions for improving the safety and security of both port infrastructure and ships operating in European waters.
The inclusion of UnderSec in this publication underscores the project’s relevance and the consortium’s commitment to enhancing maritime safety through innovative research.
We thank ISSNOVA and Ship2Shore for recognizing UnderSec’s contribution to the future of maritime security and for helping to raise awareness among industry stakeholders and the wider public.
